Today, I'm studying abroad in Mexico and someone asked me what it's like to be from Minnesota. I responded in Spanish, in front of thirty people, what I thought translated to, "If you get cold, you can just put on a jacket." Apparently, what I thought meant "jacket" actually meant "masturbate". FML

Actually, you are all missing the FML here. She used the word 'chaqueta' wich correctly means jacket in Spanish but in Mexican slang, 'chaqueta' means to **********. So in all fairness your spanish was correct but while in Mexico you may want to stay with 'Chamarra' instead of 'Chaqueta' when referring to your jacket.

um how does that answer their question? if you're cold anywhere you can put on a jacket, not just Minnesota.

it's not that he's stupid at all. Chequeta DOES mean 'jacket' in Spanish and is what most American kids learn as. The problem that OP didn't know about was that it was the slang word for 'Mastrubate' in Mexico. FYL OP, but now I know not to say chequeta in public xD
