Today, I was walking home, when I realized I didn't have my phone on me. After retracing my steps, I realized that I'd been listening to music from my phone the entire time. FML

Lol I've done that too but I was talking on my phone

It's the same with hats or sunglasses. You forget they're there and then look like a tit trying to find them. You'd think 4 billion of evolution would have more to show.

It's even worse when your busy looking for your phone whilst you're actually in the middle of a call... ON YOUR PHONE!

1 - It's funny being on the other end of the line when that happens.

I've had a pencil in my hand and then forgotten where I had put it.

23 that's when you start to help them look and suggest certain places that they might have missed

LMAO! Just the other day I asked my fiancee where my laptop was while we were watching a show right on the laptop. And that's not the first time I've done that either.

If only remembering where our phones are gave us an evolutionary advantage. "Look at you, Pleonasm, remembering that your phone is in your hand. That makes me want to reproduce with you so bad!" In my dreams :'(

Car keys too. I've been late for work trying to find them when they're in my hand the whole time.

We all do that. But I would figure its pretty obvious with music playing in your ear

Surprisingly no. It's like people who look for their glasses while they're wearing them. You'd be surprised how long the fact that they can see clearly to look got their glasses takes to penetrate.

I do that every once and a while. But it only takes me like a minute to realize I can see clearly and that they were on my face. I feel so stupid when that happens.

That's like the whole, talking on the phone and being like "Crap! Where's my phone?!" Then person you're on the phone with is like "Uh..?"

Yeah I figure if music is just playing in your head you might need to see a doctor.

Well that was a waste of time! Didn't you hear the music?

13- It's called sensory adaptation. It's the same concept as not feeling a bracelet or hat that's been on you for several hours. When his/her attention shifted back to the music, bam, they noticed the phone.

one time I was looking for my phone in the dark I was using my phone as a flashlight
