You really should have just blocked the number after the second time.
When experiencing someone who would not leave me alone, I called at&t to see if they could block them. They said it would be for a monthly cost. But, no worries! I post this comment to bring the good news that, there are free apps that will block calls and texts for you. This is not a promotion, I am simply informing OP, in case they do not wish to pay to block. Good luck, OP.

#21 Oops, I forgot that at&t did mention that they could not block texts. It's a rip off.
There are plenty of 3rd party apps for blocking calls and texts. I installed one less than a month ago to deal with an overly persistent telemarketer who was calling to tell me that there was a problem with my credit card, and that it was the second and final call. Every day. For a month. The best part is that after getting myself in trouble during my college days, I don't deal with credit cards anymore.
You do have access to free number blocking. Check your local app store and you can find one for any of the major smartphone OS's
At least he's in a different country, right?
How the hell did she not notice it wasn't an American number ?? Wtf ! But yeah at least the stalker isn't next door.
International number doesn't necessarily mean they're not in the same country
44 I don't know why you're getting thumbed down, you're right. The stalker could have moved to a different country and kept his phone number.
Common sense is not that common.
It also costs per month to keep that number blocked. And they tend to always find out your new one. I know this because I switched my number 4 times and only had my family know it and somehow my stalker got it. Soooo yeah. It's costly . It also costs to switch your number. Or at least that's what happened to me haha.
You can however block international calls and texts for free, but only as a whole. And if you got a smartphone, apps like truecaller will do the blocking trick. #45 and op unfortunate about your stalkers, good luck!
By continuing to respond to him, it just encouraged him. Should have blocked his number after telling him to go away
The good news - you can probably block the number. The bad - you likely have to pay for those international texts.
You have a strange phone company if you pay after you call...
In Australia you can do either. Buy credit, or go on a monthly plan where you pay after

#22 same in the UK. I can also limit my bill so I can only use what I get free and nothing else. I always thought Americans got screwed on their phone bills, is it true you have to pay to receive texts too?
I'm not sure about America but in Canada you do pay to receive texts, unless it's part of your plan. And it's a huge competition between 2 major companies so our phone bills are ridiculous.
It is for some plans.
You should be flattered to be so interesting to be stalked internationally! I can't say much else to make you feel better. That sucks big fat overages.
At least you know he is in aisle eastern country somewhere, not near you!
Call your provider, tell them to block the numbers, and see if they're willing to help you with that bill. They may be able to eat some of those charges but not all of them. Should have learned after the first couple.
First of all, any type of contact with me is going to allow me to assume that you in fact do love me. Secondly, I am going to assume, again, that this means I can't see you next Friday?
