Well that's sad, I'm sorry! She obviously is pretty ugly too if she has to call someone else ugly to feel good about herself!
She never called OP ugly, she just said not naturally pretty, there isn't just ugly or pretty...
I agree with 27. Maybe the OP has dark circles under her eyes and her manager was incredibly rude about how she told the OP.
I don't think she should have called op ugly, but the whole making fun of others because you're insecure is BS. People do it to make others feel bad, not always because they bad about themselves. If OP has dark circles or bad acne, make up could be important if theyre spending a lot of time with customers.

^ what would someone have to gain by making fun of someone if they weren't insecure? People who aren't happy themselves tend to always be the ones to put people down.
Tbh, I think anyone who picks on others for their looks must have some level of insecurity with themselves. People who are secure in themselves don't need to insult and denigrate another person for any reason; whether it be jealousy, for power, or simply because they find humiliating others "funny".
I agree with MarisaCB. Some people just have a ****** up sense of humor, or maybe the manager was on a power trip, but not everyone who talks badly about people is trying to cover up some kind of inferiority complex. That's a broad generalization.
You should've asked her if being naturally bitchy was a requirement. Cause if it was, she nailed it.
Why the **** would the OP even ask if makeup was a requirement? It seems like kind of a dumb question. If it was a requirement, the manager would have already told you.
Or a strip club.
It's a requirement if you work at Hooters. You have to wear full makeup while working.
Some bitches just happen too be women... don't sweat it.
Ouch. Should've said "oh so you have to wear it too then, yes?"
And then she gets fired.
And she should find a job with out a bitch manager. The holidays are coming, companies are desperate to hire.
Yeah, right after pwning her.
12: That's not true everywhere. Also, most of those holiday jobs disappear in January, and then what does she do? "Getting a job" is not so easy.
I suggest OP shut up and nod, that sounds like some petty schoolyard scuffle. The manager will shut her trap eventually if she isn't fed.
Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder how on Earth the people on this site find and keep jobs, if everytime they see a story about a boss being an asshole they say, "Oh, just find another job! You deserve better."
Sometimes you just have to put up with shitty bosses.
FML really makes me so hopeful in finding a job. To bad it isn't as easy getting a job as it is telling someone to get a new job.
Makeup should never be a requirement anyway. Some of us can't wear it because of sensitive skin. I'm sorry your manager was such a bitch. I'm sure you're actually very pretty.
Unless OP works in a cosmetics store, wearing make-up shouldn't be a requirement
Apparently they make you wear make up in Victoria's Secret. My friend worked there and eventually quit because it wasn't a good environment at all
Um, pretty sure it's a requirement in any job in the beauty industry. I'm a manager for a salon and it's a requirement for everyone here. Nobody wants to see the makeup artist working on them wearing no makeup. Would you?
You have to wear full makeup if you work at Hooters too.
To piss her off you should wear clown makeup for your next day. Add the HUGE red nose to spice it up.
Absolute genius, right there. I completely agree.
Time to sharpen up the resume. If she is that nasty to your face then she is absolutely crushing you behind your back. Find a place to work where the people appreciate you.
Completely agree
Sorry OP, your boss is a bitch. Too bad makeup can't make her pretty on the inside, since she obviously has an ugly personality.
She is the boss though they should make up!
It might make her prettier on the inside, if she swallowed some makeup. (don't take me for an idiot, it's a joke)
You should reply so is that why you look like a clown?
No. Don't EVER do that.
If she's being mean to you like this that early, imagine what's going to happen later on. It's really not worth it
