Ouch sorry OP, bosses tend to forget the elders working there and promote the new. Be assertive and talk to your boss I'm sure they can work some thing out for your work space.

To be honest, it sounds like nepotism is in play cause I don't know how interns get their own office that quick

In order for it to be nepotism the intern would have to be related to the main boss otherwise it is just regular favoritism
