Today, I was hurriedly doing laundry. I threw a second load in the dryer and slammed the door shut. All of a sudden, I heard scratching and whining coming from the dryer. My cat probably hates me now. FML

Actualy really sad. I know people that have killed their cat like that. The cat crawls into the laundry, you dont notice until you find it dead in the dryer. Horrible way to go.

Your cat deserved it. It shouldn't have been hiding in the laundry in the first place. And I'm surprised it didn't make a fuss at all when you started moving the clothes around before you got it in dryer.

I don't think cats gets the concept of a dryer. If the cat keeps hiding in the dryer, then yeah, it's a pretty stupid cat, but for a first offense it has nothing else to learn from.

I'm not saying that the cat deserves to die a horrible agonizing death. I'm just saying that it probably deserved getting locked in the dryer for a couple seconds. In my understanding that's all that happened to it.

I agree. If nothing else, the cat should have moved or meowed as soon as wet clothes started piling up on it. On the other hand, it had to be OP's fault that the cat was even in the dryer in the first place. Always close the door when you're not using it. And OP also should have quickly checked to make sure it was empty before dumping her stuff in, just to be safe. So my final vote is 2 counts of stupidity on OP's part, and one on the cat's part. They both deserve it.

how can a cat deserve it when they didn't know? they like to lay ANYWHERE my cat sleeps in the sock basket. good thing your cat is ok op it would have been sad to find a dead cat in the dryer.
