Am I being detained?

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - Canada - Chilliwack

Today, a police car hit my parked vehicle, likely due to icy road conditions. When the officer came over to talk to me, I assumed it was to give me his insurance information. Nope. It was to give me a ticket for "impeding a police officer." My car was in my driveway. FML

Get a lawyer and sue him. It's highly unlikely that anything else would be successful.

as much as I like police officers I feel to many of them abuse there power which sets the negative tone on them. fight it. I don't see a way you couldn't win this

A cop once pulled over my teen daughter and gave her a hard time for not dimming her brights fast enough when she topped a slight hill and he was on the other side. She was flustered and couldn't find her insurance. The idiot gave her a ticket but had the wrong vehicle info! We HAD to go to court because we couldn't provide insurance for a car we didn't own!

God. I feel like all you ever hear about cops is how they're all huge dicks all the time. Sorry OP :(

Because good news doesn't sell papers, or make a dramatic news report or a successful FML.

See, it's cops like these that give all other cops a bad name.

Do you have a court date to fight the ticket?if not go to small claims court .

This would be one of those instances I would highly recommend you get a lawyer to help defend you on this, and bring charges on a dirty cop.

What a tosser. It's people like that who ruin the reputation of police forces.

Talk to the police chief. This happened to a friend and the chief resolved it, by revoking the ticket and screaming at the officer.

Agreed. Unless you have reason to believe the entire department is corrupt steel one should be to file a complaint.

All of my friends from Canada always brag about the good and friendly police force they got. I guess you can find jerks anywhere you go, no matter the country. Fight the ticket OP.
