Awkward silence

Today, the director of the play I'm in decided to show us an example of the type of shoes we would be wearing in the show. She brings in a pair of hideous black combat boots, and I remark how ugly they are. They're her own favorite boots. I had to carpool with her after rehearsal. FML

Dude, black boots in general = awesome. and I agree with #1, you don't insult what the director brings in, often enough they'll like it or it is theirs.

Why would you remark negatively on something that could potentially become your costume?! If you have something negative to say about something you can't change, don't comment because it won't do you any good. Or you could have at least said it more subtly... And agree with #3, black boots are pretty awesome. Combats in particular.

I have never seen ugly combat boots and I don't believe any such exist... I mean combat boots are made for their comfort, endurance and protective qualities, therefore the design is very simple without any ridiculous ornaments. Now designer boots.... those usually look like someone puked them out.

Judgment is crucial here. As in, have the good judgment to not so openly judge others tastes. mouths are often best kept closed.

combat boots kind of suck... they're cool if you're non-military but they're really kind of ugly. more people should own up to their rude moments.

Combat boots are completely stupid and so are non-military people who wear them. I don't blame you for saying they're ugly... They are!! bleh!

how is the an fml? I make comments like that all the time. it's my opinion who cares? Now if someone asked if they were pretty, or how their clothes look on them. I'm obviously not going to say something bad. But a situation like yours is NORMAL
