Today, my friend Kate and I were helping build a playground. Halfway through, a construction worker asked where we go to school. I told him we graduated and proudly held degrees in Psych. The construction worker stopped mid-dig, glanced at us sadly, and said, "Yeah, that's what my degree is in too." FML

Today, I recently graduated from high school and I went to a college party. I met these girls and told them I graduated college already, to sound cool. I then heard one of them say, "I went to middle school with you, and I was in your math class." FML

Today, I was sent to an elementary school for safety day. One of the dads was asking about my job, when I told him about the long hours and high stress involved. He turned to his son and said, "Now see why you stay in school?" I'm a paramedic. With a bachelor's degree. FML

Disappointing

Today, I bumped into a former teacher, one who spent many many weeks helping me get into university so I could become a psychologist. I had to see the look of disappointment on her face when I told her I got pregnant freshman year, and became a stay at home mom with a part time job at Tesco’s. FML

Today, I was talking to one of my supervisors at my new job. He asked if I knew a professor at the school I recently graduated from, and I decided to babble on about how shitty of a professor he was and how much I loathed his class. He then looked at me and said, "That's my dad." FML

Today, I lost my job to a girl that graduated with the same bachelor's degree from the same college as me. She also got a master's in an unrelated field. I've been working there 7 months, and her master's in maths apparently makes her a better athletic trainer than me. FML

Today, it's the third time this year I was recommended to meet someone because we're "so smart, we'll get along." At dinner, this person complimented how I'd do great in their graduate course on data science. I helped develop the degree program. I can't believe I missed pinball for this. FML

Today, I was volunteering at a school, as I walked past the swings these two girls smiled and said "wow, you are so pretty!". I smiled back and said "awww, well thank you!." As I walked past I hear them laughing, "she actually believed us." FML

Today, a girl came up to me on the street and said, "You have like no swag, bro." Feeling clever, I said, "At least I have a high school education." She then took out her work ID, showing me that she was a surgeon, flipped me off, then walked away saying, "This is totally going on Facebook." FML

Unless you're going beyond a four-year degree, psych is useless. This shouldn't surprise you as more psych degrees are handed out than any other concentration last time I checked.

You have to be willing to move where the job is. If you aren't willing to move, then yeah..you might end up there. I knew astrophys' and microbiologists working in an inking factory because they couldn't find jobs in the area.

Psych can be either a science or arts degree, both of which are basically worthless job-wise without grad school.

HAHA. THOSE WHO SAID THAT BEING A PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE IS STUPID AND WORTHLESS? ASK YOURSELVES, WHERE DO YOU GO WHEN YOU WILL HAVE AN INTERVIEW OR APPLYING A JOB? IN HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT, RIGHT? MOSTLY, EMPLOYEES THERE ARE PSYCH GRADUATES! WELL, SOME AREN'T... BUT, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING... MOST NURSING STUDENTS HERE, WHEN THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE PRESSURE ANYMORE, THEY SHIFT TO PSYCHOLOGY COURSE... AND YEAH, THEY ADMIT THAT BEING A PSYCHOLOGY STUDENT IS WAY TOO GREAT, AND A LOT EASIER THAN BEING A NURSING STUDENT BECAUSE OF SO MUCH STRESS. Really? You study psychology yet don't feel like typing normally? I'm sorry to call you a 'colleague'. Sure, psychology is fairly hard, 1/3 of students quit after their first year... But really. When you try to compliment a course, don't make yourself look like a moron.
