Bad omen

Today, my friend Kate and I were helping build a playground. Halfway through, a construction worker asked where we go to school. I told him we graduated and proudly held degrees in Psych. The construction worker stopped mid-dig, glanced at us sadly, and said, "Yeah, that's what my degree is in too." FML

Unless you're going beyond a four-year degree, psych is useless. This shouldn't surprise you as more psych degrees are handed out than any other concentration last time I checked.

You have to be willing to move where the job is. If you aren't willing to move, then yeah..you might end up there. I knew astrophys' and microbiologists working in an inking factory because they couldn't find jobs in the area.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAH FYL cause that degree costs a lot and FHL cause that is just sad

Shiiiittt something similar to that happened to me once too. You are NOT a snob and psych is NOT an easy degree to get. You don't necessarily need a PhD to get a job in the field (though it helps!) but at the very least you need a diploma from a community college. You can also get some jobs with just a Master's.

Construction jobs rock!! I am a quantity surveyor and did 1 day and night a week at college while on the job training. 2 years later Im on £30K with company car and benefits. And its a peice of piss. Screw your American colleges - every tom dick and harry goes there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#153 you obviously need to go to school. Learn how to spell.

it sucks just because you get a four year degree does not mean you are going to get a great job its bullshit, I wonder if something like this will happen to me.

I am currently majoring in psychology going to be a clinical psychologist. Also minoring in Knes. Is that bad?

the issue with some majors is you have to go to to graduate school to be able to do anything with it and psychology is just one of them other than that it is not bad

SADLY? Construction looks like one of the most fun jobs out there. **** those guys for not being able to appreciate the opportunity to work with their hands and create something.

#145 Thank you. I was about to go off on #136. I had a cousin that went to Harvard and was barely able to maintain a 3.7 the 4 years he went there. Hell, I got a 34 on my ACT and I'm struggling to keep my GPA above 3.5. Obviously #136 has some higher form of intelligence then the rest of us.
