Believe in your dreams

By ZAS - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Canada

Today, at the daycare center that I volunteer at, a 5 year-old boy asked me, "What do you do when you really want something?" I told him to try his best to get it and give it his best. He ended up stealing from the donation box and when he was caught he said that I told him to do it. FML

Kid's got a great future in politics: 1- Interprets answers to his questions to his own benefit 2-Knows how to steal 3-Lies & blames it on someone else.

And that is why you try to get as much info as you can from a child about their question before you answer it.....

Hahahahahhahahahahahahha. NEVER SAY SOMETHING THAT CAN BE EASILY MISINTERPRETED BY A CHILD. You deserved it for not asking what it was he wanted. Part of keeping small children out of trouble is knowing how the little gears in their heads are turning. Of course you told him to do it, because in his language, you did.

Aw, that's terrible. Lesson to be learned: always have a witness. =]

And this, my friends, is why we don't say crap like this around children.

#6 yeah, he should go to "(whatever)'s got talent!" :P

Normally, you'd ask what they wanted before you just told them to do their best to get it... you should be more inquisitive when working with kids.

This is one smart kid. He asks for advice by not directly implying what he really wants. You really did tell him to do it, but you didn't know what he meant. What this kid needs is a good backhand to the face.
