Today, I overheard my mother and sister talking so I stopped to eavesdrop. I recently enlisted in the Marines, and they were talking about what they would do with the money if I died. FML

That ought to teach you not to eavesdrop on conversations. Marines...when will they learn? ;) RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

Haha I got an FML profile just so I could like your comment. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY

Be cool. If you died and they got any money, wish they enjoy it so much they can overcome living with the guilt and remorse of ever considering your death to nurture their greed.

wow....never heard that one b4...no im sure i have, damn... change beni's and take them out, thats shitty... OHRAH RANGERS BLOW...

Yeah you're right, I'm sure Marines' basic is way harder than becoming a Ranger (i.e. Army Basic, Airborne School, and then Ranger School.) Prick.

As a service member myself, that's pretty horrible. Make sure you don't elect either of them on your SGLI.

Don't give it to them. You can give it to anyone you want, in what ever percentages you want. The max Life Insurance you can have through DoD is 400,000. You will also get 100,000 if you die in combat. Give your Mom and sister as little as 1%. However much you want to give to other people are up to you. They no longer have to be family members. But you will need their personal information. I have mine set up to give all of it to my daughter, but it goes into a trust fund until she is 25 or graduates college, in which case it will be broken down from age of graduation to 25. Say she graduates at 22. She will get 33.3% for 3 years. AND....Rangers are *******. De Oppresso Liber!!!

They need some tough love like the marines give.

Serves you right for going Marines instead of Army. No, jk jk... As for your story, been there, done that. Very simple solution... leave the money from your SGLI to someone else.

That is so mean!! their jerks!!!!!

#7, it doesn't matter what they said they'd spend the money on...the fact that they were talking about it is what matters
