Blast from the past

By fat_thighs - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I read a PostSecret that said, "I'm afraid my thighs will start to touch soon." My thighs have always touched. I didn't even know thighs weren't supposed to touch. FML

this isn't so bad really. your thighs touching doesn't mean you're fat or anything.

I bet her thighs never touched cause there's always a guy in between them!

omg, i wear size 1 or 3 in juniors jeans and my thighs touch. it's a non-issue.

I don't know if you all are putting down thin people to try to make fat people feel better, but you can all stop saying that you have to be revoltingly skinny or have an eating disorder in order for your thighs not to touch. I'm 16 years old, 5'6", and 118 pounds, and I wear about a size 3 in jeans. I am neither anorexic nor unhealthily skinny; I happen to have a high metabolism and difficulty gaining either fat or muscle mass. My thighs touch at the top when I'm sitting, and do not touch at all when I'm standing. At the same time, it doesn't all depend on your weight or your amount of body fat; it also depends on the curve of your thighs. Have you ever noticed how some people's thighs seem to curve outward when you look at them straight-on, and others seem to curve inward? Also, #374 said that she wears a size 1 or 3 in jeans and her thighs touch. Her thighs may be curved in such a way that they touch, or she may be short and not above-averagely thin for her height. I don't know. But my point is that there is not always a correlation between whether your thighs touch and whether you need to lose weight. If you are a healthy weight and your thighs touch, don't worry about it. If you are an unhealthy weight, then whether or not your thighs touch, do what you safely can to reach a healthy weight.

Wow, I think the last time my thighs didn't touch, I was like... 9 years old. When I was 14 I read in a stupid girly magazine that your arms weren't supposed to touch your ribs and your thighs weren't supposed to touch. I believed it back then and went on a stupid crash diet eating 300 calories a day. Over months to a year, that developed into an eating disorder, which lingered for the next 8 years. Now that I'm 25, I know better, but damn it... stupid Seventeen. Why did you have to ruin me during my prime? Since then I've cleaned up my health, started running and lifting weights, and even during the best shape I've ever been in (muscular and slim, not skinny, just healthy) my thighs still touched, I quit going to the gym a few months ago after I moved so I'm not in amazing shape anymore, but... you know, for your information... It's normal.

I'm underweight n my thighs touch. wtf.

Well, it depends on how you're sitting. If you sit with your legs close together, than yeah, your thighs will touch. But if you sit with you legs farther apart from each other then they shouldn't touch if your skinny, NOT anorexic #3. I weigh 110-115 pounds and I am 5'6 and my legs don't touch when they are farther apart from each other, but they do touch if they are closer together. Even when I was at MY bigger of 130, the same scenario applied.

Wtf is up with people bashing women whose thighs don't touch? My legs don't touch eachother and I'm not bowlegged or anorexic. People who say that must be ******* fatties. Anyway, your thighs touching doesn't make you fat. In case it hadn't been pointed out enough.
