I'm sorry for your loss. I know how traumatic it is having to say goodbye to a furbaby. (It's bad enough when your cat is elderly and you know it's coming; a sudden death like this must have been awful.) The clinic I used (and still use for the cat I have now) gave us time with Miss Kitty to say goodbye. Then the vet told us what would happen and waited until we were ready to have the procedure done. I was also crying hysterically during the procedure, but they did give us time and privacy, and they did wait until I had calmed down and my boyfriend and I were ready to leave before providing the bill. I know it sucks getting a bill on one of the worst days of your life, but vets and their staff need to be paid for their work as well. And as hard as it is for us to say goodbye to our dear furbabies, imagine being a vet who has to deal with vicarious grief on a regular basis.

yall arent seeing this the right way, from the way this sounds they asked her to pay right after the cat was put down, while she was crying, they could have at least gave her a little time to process what happend
As sad as it is, a vet clinic can't function without funds.
