Today, while watching The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh with my 5 year-old, I realized why the kangaroo's name is Kanga, and why her son's name is Roo. Kanga-Roo. Get it? Yeah. I didn't until today. I'm 47. FML

Although I've read W-t-P in Russian, I could never figure out what "Trespassers W" meant, up till I turned 13 and thoroughly thought about it :) But Kanga and Roo were always clear to me ^^

Because when the Bugs Bunny cartoons were first created, there was a gangster named Bugsy Malone. "Bugs" Bunny was meant to indicate that he was somewhat lawless.

actually, every Warner Brothers cartoon documentary I've ever seen states that Bugs bunny was created by an animator named Ben "Bugs" Hardaway and when the character of a bunny was proposed many animators submitted their designs. The design labeled as " Bugs' bunny" was chosen and the name stuck. I've never heard any reference to Bugsy Malone.
