Today, my mother asked me if my boyfriend and I were getting serious. I quickly lied and said no. She then informed me that if things ever heated up, she would take me to get birth control. Wanting birth control, I confessed. In turn she grounded me. I'm not allowed to see my boyfriend anymore. FML

Today, I was watching a movie that had a mild sex scene in it. My mother walked in just as that scene was starting and she flipped out. I'm now grounded. She's taken my TV and laptop out of my room and refuses to let me see my boyfriend because she's sure he's the cause of my "disgusting behaviour". FML

Today, I told my mom I was going on a date tonight. She laughed and didn't believe me. When I tried to convince her it was real, she got mad and grounded me for lying. I had to cancel the date. FML

Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML

Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML

When i was dating my now-ex, my mom told me she would get me birth control if i needed it, but we werent having sex. Now I'm with a new boy and I need birth control... but this story scares me and makes me not want to ask her for it anymore.

I completely understand your problem. I am in the exact situation, except I am not telling my mother, regardless of her offer. I know it was a trap. There are a ton of people here talking about how easy it is to get birth control. They are wrong. I am 17 years old and am only allowed out of the house once a week. That makes it pretty hard to sneak to the health department to get it. I don't have my own car, so I can't just say that I am going to the store. It isn't as simple at it seems. But my boyfriend and I are super careful. We always use condoms. I trust that you do too. And I also think that people here are pretty ignorant for saying that you are to young. There is no age limit for love. And if two people love each other, they have all the right to express it. Hopefully your mom will calm down and let you start seeing him again. I don't know what I'd do without mine. =]

Wow, that was a really bitch move your mom did there. If that was me, and I was a girl, I would totally sneak up on my mom and secretly fertilize her in vitro. Then, when she realized she somehow got pregnant, I would be like, "Talk to me about birth control, will you? You *****!" While laughing at her. But that's just me. Might not be the best option for you. =P

I'm in the same kinda situation.. it sucks! I'm learning to hate my mom.. she just shouted at me because my boyfriend bought me a jacket for my birthday.. WTF?! tell her to go **** herself and go see him anyway. she is willingly putting strain on your relationship.
