Today, I went to pick up my goddaughter while her mother went to work. She was being fussy, and I was surprised when she was quiet in the car; I just figured she'd fallen asleep. I got to my house and realized I'd never put her in my car, she was still sitting in my friend's driveway. FML

Today, I picked up my daughter from daycare. As we were getting into the car, I strapped her into the car seat, but something felt off. I looked back and realized I had picked up the wrong kid. In my defense, she was wearing the same jacket as my daughter. FML

Today, while driving home, I looked in the rear-view mirror and saw that my three-year-old daughter had managed to get out of her seat and had crawled to the back window. I pulled over and strapped her in again. Five minutes later she was back at the window. FML

Today, while waiting for my grandmother at the train station, a girl walked out and climbed into my car. When I cleared my throat to tell her of her mistake, she screamed and ran out as if I was a criminal trying to abduct her. FML

Today, I was waiting for a friend to pick me up. It was after dark and I was nervous, so when he pulled up I immediately jumped in the car. The young girl in the driver's seat started freaking out, screaming and punching me in the face repeatedly. I'd accidentally gotten in the wrong car. FML

Today, I was having a conversation with a new friend when she remembered she needed to grab something from her car. I don't know where she parked, but it's been two and a half hours and she's still gone. FML

Today, I was babysitting for my neighbors. Their 5 year-old had finally fallen asleep at 11 after two hours of stories and songs. No sooner had I tiptoed out of the room did I realize that my phone had dropped out of my pocket onto the bed. It was ringing. It was their mother checking in. FML

Today, due to bad weather, my dad let me take his car to drive to my apartment 3 hours away. I only realized when I got there that my keys were still sitting on my parents' kitchen counter. FML

Today, I went to visit my aunt who lives 6 hours away from me. Her car was missing from her driveway, but she's unemployed and barely leaves the house. Turns out, she moved in with her new boyfriend and didn't tell anyone, so I had to drive 6 hours back. FML

Today, I picked up my daughter from the day care but before we left, the babysitter needed to have a talk with me. To fill you in, I got a brand new prius yesterday. Apparently my daughter told eveyone that her mommy got a new penis. FML

Ever heard of a rear view mirror? Do you not use it? It helps you see behind you while you're driving. She most likely couldn't have instantly fallen asleep in the car. There's no way you could've missed the fact that she wasn't in there. YDI

In all fairness to the duh check your rearview, if the kid is rear facing it may not have helped. I have a special mirror in the back to be able to see my daughter in her rear facing seat but someone who doesnt have kids probably wouldnt. Even so, what the f??? YDI.

The kid was in the car seat in the driveway so clearly there was no child in the car it wouldn't matter if it was rear facing because it wasn't in the car so you're thought is invalid.

This all depends on the age of the child. My son is 18 months, and sits rear facing. I usually cannot see him while driving. The OP could have installed the car seat, and forgot to put the child in it - again, I'm not defending her actions, but the rearview mirror would not necessarily have helped.

If that were my child I'd never trust you again. What if it was a shopping centre or a public park? That child might not have been there when you got back. YDI.
