By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was so excited to play the video game I just bought, I decided to read the manual in the game. I went over the seizure warning and thought to myself, who the hell gets a seizure from playing a video game? Apparently I do. FML

When will people remember this? Just because ALL THE FMLs AUTOMATICALLY start with "Today", it doesn't mean that they happened the same day! Anyway, that sucks a lot, especially if you're a big gamer - I'd be bummed if it were me. I'm curious about what game it was now, though.

Lol that's crazy I never had a seizure but I have to take like 5-10 mins to redeem myself from the excitement of a new game

#107, the most common/commonly stated reason for epileptic seizures from a video game is due to the colors, lights and effects. Wildly flashing lights/colors and dazzling effects can have an effect on the brain whether or not you do have a history of epilepsy, although it is MUCH more common with people who do have histories.

The lights can cause someone to get a seizure.

Oh and dumbass people with epilepsy. Dur da dur. The flashing lights arent a hint hint to a seizure? U deserve it fucktard.

*Reads all the epilespy related comments* well im going to throw my fee cents in this pool..... I have had epilespy my entire life and never had a problem with video games but in other areas i have issues, there are days were i lose my memeory and walk around not knowing anything i can last from 1day min or until my brain decieds to come back...... Epilespy is diffrent from person to person, so (in my opinion) unless you have epilespy, please read up on it before trying to comment about it
