Today, my parents found cigarettes in my car. After a long argument lasting over an hour, I convinced them that they weren't mine and that I don't smoke. A few minutes later, I went to work. Guess who decided to visit me during my smoke break. FML

Today, my mom found my dad's hidden stash of cigarettes. He told her they were mine and now I have to spend two hours at therapy for my "smoking problem" every weekend. I've never smoked. FML

Today I’d been saving a weed cigarette, which is legal where we live, until my parents went on holiday. I had just sparked up when they came back home after dad forgot his passport. The lecture I had to endure went on for so long, I think I’d have preferred an old-fashioned beating. FML

Today, I was smoking a cigarette in my backyard while my parents were out, because I'm not allowed to smoke. While smoking, my parents came home unexpectedly. In a rush, I flicked it over the fence, and it landed in my neighbor's hair. It was still lit. FML

Today, my mom found out about my brother smoking. She calmly discussed smoking with him. On the other hand, I got yelled at and made to do chores all day despite having a university exam, just because I knew about it but I didn't tell her, because I knew that I would get the short end of the stick. FML

Today, I was sent to the front office for having blood shot eyes and smelling like smoke. I just didn't get enough sleep and had trouble putting my contacts in, and I always smell like smoke because of my parents' excessive smoking. They didn't believe me. My parents had to come in to back me up. FML

Today, my mom found my weed stash and went berserk, grounding me and saying she's going to have my bedroom door removed. Less than an hour later, I found her laughing and smoking the same stash with my dad in the backyard. FML

Dude just tell the truth about stuff like this. I never lie, I don't smoke but when my parents asked if I smoked before I said yes. You know what they did? They said okay. Most parents that accuse you of smoking already know you are doing it and just want to know if you are honest with them.

it's not that they let their parents control their life, it's that they still need the support from them....you don't turn 18 and suddenly become an responsible adult (only legally) Sure they own a car and have a job but I'm sure they're living at home, or their parents are paying for their education, car insurance, etc...So until one is completely independent from their parents, whatever they say goes.

Personally I enjoy smoking for two reasons. 1) It relaxes me when I'm stressed or anxious. 2) It gives me something to do with my hands. When I'm not smoking I eat a lot of sunflower seeds, as it gives me something to do with my mouth and hands. It's almost like a habit to keep busy rather than a habit for enjoyment. IMOP.
