This has so happened to me before! And the reason that he/she is upset is because a car wash is a joint effort; you aren't paying for one person to wash your car (and hopefully not for yourself to do it). And who cares if the money was for a good cause? He/she could have just donated and not messed with washing their car by themselves. So I understand why they're upset. People need to be more sensitive.
So not an FML.
You were going to pay anyway... How is planning on donating but then having to pay $10 a FML?
but you didn't pay $10 to wash your own car, you payed $10 for what you are fund raising. so if someone else would wash you car then you'd wash another person's car - what's the difference? you are still washing cars and still donated $10. now its even better cause you got to wash your own car and now you don't have to doubt whether it was taken appropriate care of.
