Charity

Today, I worked a carwash as a fundraiser. Being nice, I figured I'd bring my car, get it washed, and donate some money. When it was my car's turn to be washed, everyone was conveniently busy washing other cars. My car was in front and needed to be washed and moved. I paid $10 to wash my own car. FML

It's for charity so it didn't all go to waste. Washing your car really isn't that bad either.

you donated $10 to a good cause though...

This has so happened to me before! And the reason that he/she is upset is because a car wash is a joint effort; you aren't paying for one person to wash your car (and hopefully not for yourself to do it). And who cares if the money was for a good cause? He/she could have just donated and not messed with washing their car by themselves. So I understand why they're upset. People need to be more sensitive.

Well the money still went to charity... and if you're going to wash cars for free, why does it matter if the car was yours or not? Not an FML. #3 and #4: FAIL

You were going to pay anyway... How is planning on donating but then having to pay $10 a FML?

but you didn't pay $10 to wash your own car, you payed $10 for what you are fund raising. so if someone else would wash you car then you'd wash another person's car - what's the difference? you are still washing cars and still donated $10. now its even better cause you got to wash your own car and now you don't have to doubt whether it was taken appropriate care of.

It was a charity, so you donated 10 dollars to charity and washed your own car. Personally i'd rather it that way, i'm kind of particular about my truck. It sounds like a win win to me.

I was just going to say what #5 has already said.
