Cheap and gross

Today, while at my job in a candy store, a boy stuck his hand into the bin, contaminating the candy. As I politely explained that the dad had to purchase the affected candy he refused, yelled, then angrily agreed to buy them. The total cost of the candy with the extra pieces? $1.69. FML

Am I the only one that thinks it's equally ridiculous for the candy store to force a customer to pay for $1 worth of candy? Just throw it away and move on already.

Why should a store have to lose money because some brat decided to stick their dirty phalanges in something they don't belong? If more stores would do that,we have less broken and wasted items.

If I were eight or younger, my dad would have glared at me, silently paid for the candy, tossed it, and smacked me as soon as we got home. Now he has technological forms of punishment (confiscating my phone, computer, internet, etc.), but this kid undoubtedly is a four year old with two iPads, so...

Probably has a big screen t.v. in his room - with 300 channels, but only watches one.

It's candy, they're kids, if you tried to make me pay for candy left in arms reach of children, I'd laugh in your face.

That doesn't make it right? Not saying kid are dogs but I've trained mine not to eat his treats until I say to. Kid should have permed not to touch what isn't his.

We had break it you but it signs all over our in-store made giant lollipops and parents would still let their kids mess with them. Then they would flip their shit when we told them you have to pay for that $40 giant lollipop your kid just shattered.
