Cheat!

By cat lady - 07/01/2016 03:38 - United States - Netcong

Today, I found out the reason why my cat would sometimes go outside for days at a time was because when she would go out, my neighbor would lure her in with cat treats and keep her there for up to 2 days. She's an indoor cat now. FML

I had a neighbor try to steal my dog once. He had gotten outside without a leash (we were still trying to get him used to the area; he'd get lost if he was out on his own) and she picked him up while she was driving in her car and was about to take him home. My dad had been walking around and stopped her car to ask if she had seen our dog, and she said no. My dad noticed she had something in a towel and asked what it was, and that's when our dog barked and stuck his head out. Our dog is meant to help my dad with his PTSD and this random lady was about to just take him from us. Some people are really inconsiderate of others and will pick up and keep any animal they think is cute.

Did you rip that bitch a new one and threaten her with the police if she tried to steal your cat again?

While nobody deserves to have their cat abducted, letting it roam free like that is a horrible idea. Not only is it incredibly rude to your neighbors whose yards and flower beds serve as your animal's litter box but it's dangerous for your poor cat. Roaming wild like that is a good way to pick up fleas, among other parasites and diseases, and your neighbors are wildcards at best. There are people out there who would shoot or poison your pet the first time they saw it on their property. You're lucky, a lack of foresight like this could have and too often does end up worse.

I'm curious to know how you found out. like did you see your cat in your neighbor's window or did you see it happen?

when you throw your pet outside, you lose your rights to it. Be glad that a caring neighbor took it in and fed it, rather than having a truck mow it over.

on what planet does letting your pet outside = you disowning it or "losing rights" to it

A lot of people share this view - outdoor cats lead significantly shorter lives. There's a cat killed in our neighborhood every week on the road, mauled by a dog or fox, or frozen to death. Our cat is strictly indoor for this reason

Aw. That's not right. Your neighbor needs their own cat.

Did she even know it was your cat? We have so many strays and outdoor cats in our neighborhood it's impossible to know. At least one gets killed on the road every week.

The same thing happened with my neighbors. One day I was walking home and a pack of my neighbors rat shit little heathen children were holding my cat who id raised for nearly 2 years since 8 weeks old. I didnt really have a problem with it until i realized that the short annoying one was holding her collar and tag and they repeatedly called her sandy. Later i learned that they had been luring her in since the first time shed been let outside.
