My dad bought one for my mom on valentine's day. To this day he doesn't know what he did wrong- he just says, "What?! She wanted to lose weight! It was the perfect gift!" Although now he mostly sticks to gift cards (my suggestion).
It's funny, when smoking was very popular and if you let your friend know that they should quit they replied, "it's perfectly healthy! It's okay!" Now it's the same with obesity and being over weight. This should be a wake up call, save yourself now before it's too late.
What a great idea for a present! It's always handy to have some extra toilet paper ;)
I suggest you get your "friend" a book, as well. One titled "How to Not be a Shitty Person."
Keywords
Give her a book on how to be a good friend.
Sounds like they are being a bit heavy-handed about their message.
