Ciphered

Today, I accidentally decoded the system my parents use for talking about sex while I'm around. It's a substitution cipher, using literary references. As they're both literature professors, this has me perpetually grossed-out and wondering, "Are they really talking about Anne Frank, or anal fisting?" FML

I wish my parents were that smart so I didn't have to hear them talk about sex.

Start talking in their cipher. That will freak them out.

115, you realize that your comment simply supports what number 6 said? If you're being observant of something and taking the time to analyze and decipher their code, that still means you're string there thinking about it. Even assuming it only took one or 2 seconds to figure out (which I'm assuming this wasn't OP's parents first time using the code). So your attempt at sounding smart at the cost of putting somebody else down pretty much backfired.

I'm more curious as to how you "accidentally" deciphered their codes. Was it obvious they were talking in code and you went digging, or did it just click one day? Kudos to your parents for the code thing, cause that's pretty clever; but, I am very sorry you stumbled upon the awkward meanings, OP. That would definitely ruin some good literature for me!
