Close call

Today, while working at a children's day camp, one of the kids who is allergic to peanuts went into anaphylactic shock. I ran and grabbed the boy's Epipen. I was holding it backwards so the injection went into my hand, causing me to pass out, and both of us to be rushed to hospital. FML

Not panicking is a good thing. Also, paying attention during the first aid training. And it's "epi pen", for the record.

Too bad you can't spell anything else....

This story seems unlikely as an epi-pen is a stimulant; it speeds up the heart in order to pump the toxin out of the blood stream. If somebody was stabbed by one (especially is it was a child's dosage) they wouldn't pass out unless that had a huge fear of needles. Epi-pens also have a cap on the opposite end of the needle which needs to be removed prior to injection (which is very obvious). Simply put, this likely didn't happen. If it did then YDI for not knowing how to hold a needle which is obviously labelled.
