That sucks but you kind of deserve it. Whenever I see furniture outside in the front yard or at the curb I almost always assume the person is getting rid of it. But at least I knock on the door and ask just in case.
Your luck sucks but you shouldn't have left your stuff outside in the first place. If you really had to you should have at least left someone to watch it so someone else didn't still them. FYL but YDI
