That's just...adorable :) And if you aren't ready, you aren't ready. Never make yourselves do something you aren't ready for...and you didn't! Congrats to you both on not feeling pressured to "have" to do something. And instead doing something you DO enjoy. The world needs more people like that! That's no FML, that's a "For The Win!"

It's okay OP. We've been led to believe that sex is the end all and be all and so it can be quite nerve wracking when you start out because you're scared that it won't live up to expectations. It's honestly far better to wait until you're 100% ready and there's no need to rush. Don't think that you have to lose it now just because you're nearly 20. There's nothing wrong with waiting a little longer.

Being respectful of yourself and your partner to just not go through with it isn't chickening out... doing it despite both of you not really being ready for it, because you somehow feel you "have to", that would be chickening out. Never be scared to say what you feel, and act on what think should be.

Nothing wrong with chickening out. It would be best to just talk about it and wait for when the time is right. :) And for god's sake, be safe and smart about it. We already have too many dumb people trying to breed.
