Company time

By IStillHaveMy8hrShiftToGo - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Beaverton

Today, I came in to work early at a restaurant to help out. I stocked, baked pies for the next day, cleaned and set over 50 tables, and vacuumed the entire two stories. When I went to send an order for the first customer of mine, I realized I hadn't even clocked on. Four and half hours of work wasted. FML

Ask your boss to adjust your hours. Simple solution.

Not wasted. Your boss needs to have a "plan B" for people who forget to clock in. By law you aren't required to work for free even if you forgot to clock in.

They still gotta pay you that'd be illegal hah

You did all that in 4 hours? Impressive.

If your manager is nice they can adjust your time card so you get paid for those hours

My bosses in the past have always been able to adjust my time for me if i forgot to clock in. (or out. oops)

Talk to the supervisor who was in charge. As an employer myself, I've often signed off on time cards where an employee didn't clock in if their hours were verified by either personal observation or another employee vouching for them.

You don't get paid because of something like that? I'll never understand the US..

US can cheat people out of their pay check

*sigh* Read every other post on this thread and you will see that it is illegal in the US.

They can still f*** you over. They got legal ways of getting around that. I wouldn't be saying that unless you got f***ed by your employer before.

I'm sure someone saw you working those hours.

Yeah, because I'm sure you've never forgotten to do anything in your lifetime.

ask your boss...have a straight talk ..you deserve the pay..
