By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I found out that when an officer screams, "DON'T MOVE OR I'LL TASE YOU", it really means, "If you so much as flinch I'm going to shoot and 50,000 volts will be directed through your nose and groin." FML

What part of flinch are you people not understanding, is it the involuntary part or the movement?

well...you're from Texas. I guess I can't be too surprised to hear you can't follow an officer's instructions...

#114 i was thinking the exact same thing, though i'm even more surprised that the officer actually warned him in the first place

:O omg that's so cruel! The cop just strangles a random one of the 3 passer byers :O I wanted to be a cop when I finished High school but not anymore, that's so sad D:

You shouldnt totally change what you want to do in life just because of a video that shows a few bad cops with out properly elaborating on the circumstances

Everyone on this site needs to stop stereotyping! Most cops arent at all bad, I've grown up surrounded by them, and I've never know anyone kinder in my life... My dad has risked his life more than once to save drunks, addicts, and whatever, he's received many awards for it too, same as most of his friends. I once woke up on my birthday to find out that my father was in the hospital after having jumped in a frozen river (in february) to save three drunks. He was by himself and had no equipment. He was pretty much as doomed as they were but with a stroke of good luck he made it out OK. So before you bash on all cops, think about those who would come and save you no matter what if you were in peril. And if you're one of those haters, I hope to hell you never call emergency services, you don't deserve them.

One of my friend's best friends was a member of the NYPD. He saved the lives of over 400 people on 9/11, and is one of the kindest and most selfless people you could ever meet. He quit shortly after 9/11 and went into security/bodyguard work because of the emotional toll of the job. The whole lot of you anti-police folks need to learn not to stereotype based on a few incidents you know of/have seen in a video/someone has told you. Your perception will be invariably false and will not apply to all (or even most) members of any given segment of society. By this sort of logic, I could claim all Christians to be irrational 'God-warriors' who want to blow up abortion clinics and shoot atheists and gays , all doctors greedy and immoral assholes trying to 'play God', all subway drivers crack-addicted psychopaths, and all bed-wetters and clowns pedophiles and serial killers. Seriously.

"The whole lot of you anti-police folks need to learn not to stereotype based on a few incidents you know of/have seen in a video/someone has told you." By the same EXACT token, you could be called on stereotyping yourself =/ "The whole lot of you pro-police folks need to learn not to stereotype based on a few incidents you know of/have seen/someone has told you." You are arguing against every police-hater who used 1 or 2 examples of why police are bad with... 1 or 2 examples of why police are good... see where i'm getting at with this? I appreciate those who serve and give their lives, those that protect, and do what's right; however to not acknowledge the unfortunately large number of police officers and military members that abuse power, hurt others, and corrupt a system of law and justice would be ignorant. Life is one big grey/gray area (hell, even gray is spelled 2 different ways!). I do not hate the police but from personal experience and close friends, I'm sadly quite cautious and hesitant around them. Not much we can do but give respect but be prepared to protect and defend your own rights if need be.

The examples were provided as a means of arguing the 'all cops suck' ranting, not to say that no cops are corrupt and that they are all saints. I understand that there are corrupt police, just as there are corrupt lawyers, judges, politicians, coaches, teachers, priests and folks in pretty much any other position of authority. That does not mean that you should live your life like the founding member of the Tinfoil Hat Alliance. Half of the posters on here seem to think every cop is a corrupt, power hungry nutbar. Maybe it depends on where you live, maybe it depends on what you do. Either way, there are ample examples of both sides of the coin for any profession, and it serves no good generalising the world. Except for politicians. They feed on Vicodin and shattered dreams. :p

It doesn't serve any good to automatically assume that all cops are corrupt? I say it does. Thinking this way keeps you cautious and on your toes around them. They aren't your friends and will almost always look out for themselves over anyone else. I don't hate cops, not in the least but I refuse to trust them because of all the incidents. Ever heard the phrase, "Better safe than sorry"?

don't **** with the police cuz they gotz an edumacashun
