he needs a major spanking!
To the people screaming about abuse, no one here is talking about assaulting the kid, a spanking or mouth washing is not abuse if it is done for the right reason, and with the right temperament from the parent. A backhand across the face, or a paddling on the ass hard enough to bruise is to far, but sometimes a firm spanking can be beneficial. To those who say that it will do nothing but make your kid fear you, I was spanked, belted, slapped, hit with the wooden spoon, and I was never afraid of my parents, I respected them.
In contrast, my parents never laid a hand on me when I misbehaved and I also still learned to respect them. They would give me a good shouting, *explain* to me why what I did was wrong, and then send me to my room. It worked just fine. I don't think there's much wrong with a bit of spanking but using a belt? That's too far.
Apparently these parents don't know how to teach this child manners
The people on here are absolutely scary on any post that includes a child acting up. He got upset about a situation you clearly knew he would hate and had an inappropriate outburst. That was disrespectful and wrong and you should clearly discuss why it was wrong and give him the tools to express himself correctly. You dont have to beat him or wash his mouth out (kids can aspirate the soap which is crazy dangerous!). Just last week I accidentally said a curse word in church when I received bad news. I obviously apologized but guess what, no one hit me with a belt or "knocked me into last week". Violence isn't how we solve issues of disrespect with anyone but children. You cant even hit your dog (which is PROPERTY) without people freaking out but everyone loves to demand you beat your kid for every infraction. Respect is earned, not beaten into people.
I want to know, too... Why can't you??
That boy needs manners
She never said whether she disciplined him or not...
He needs the legendary ass whoopin of his lifetime. That'll do the trick.
