Don't be such jerks, she was trying to be considerate. But yeah, YDI for not talking to her.
exactly! she was trying to be considerate. and honestly, i think you're a good daughter for doing that. because there's no point in going in to debt when you can go to a slightly less ranked college that is cheap. and for everyone screaming financial aid...did you think that maybe she was over the limit of being qualified but still didn't want her mother paying for it? just because you don't want to spend your life savings on college doesn't mean you're poor. so STFU! and with the less ranked college, she probably got a merit scholarship anyway. besides she's obviously talking undergrad. it's not a big deal. still, i think your mother would have understood. but i can't blame you for not telling her.
Remember, you're F'd up like you are because of her. It's all coming full circle to F.HER.Life. She obviously didn't raise you with good analytical or logic skills. The communication between you is fractured at best, which is probably due to other festering issues.... She can spend the $$ you're saving her on cat food and bingo.
you should have at least told her. because now your mom has to feel like crap knowing her kid was smart enough for a great education and was to embarrased to talk to her mom about her financial state. YDI for not giving your mom the benefit of the doubt.
well if u were top 10 wouldnt u have gotten at least a scholarship or something? and shes supposed to pay its college.
What the hell is this shit. Observe kids, this proves that book sense is not a substitute for common sense.
Just because you threw away the letters doesn't affect the fact that you were accepted, unless this is total bullshit, which it almost certainly is. They will send you new letters if you call them. You obviously missed the deadline, but applications for expensive schools are way down so they will probably reconsider you for the coming year. If this is true, you have at least admitted that you ****** up and so you can start to put your life together. But really, you need counseling more than college at this point.
Hmm, you are correct. http://www.hernandezcollegeconsulting.com/ivy-league-admissions-statistics/ I must have mis-read something.

YDI for not talking to your mom and throwing them away. If you can't afford it, there's always financial aid...
