Cuteness overload

Today, my friend asked me if I could watch her mother's cats while they go on vacation. I agreed since her house is on my way to work. When I talked to her mother, I found out she has 30-something cats. She reckons she lost count. FML

What I would do is put a call into Animal Control to clear most of the cats out and when she comes back play dumb and say animal control just "showed up out of no where" and that you couldn't stop them. Haveing 30 cats isn't healthy for the women or the cats. it's impossible to take care all 30 cats properly

You could probably run a semi-successful blog about the experience. With a good camera and basic photography skills, you could be a hit. I'd read it. How long are you taking care of this mess for? You should definitely get some animal control people to help you out - get all the cats spayed or neutered, and hopefully get some of them re-homed as well. As long as they aren't fixed, the problem will only keep growing. The current condition of things is not good for anyone, feline or human. Good luck, and I hope you have more friends than the one who's going on vacation with her crazy cat lady mom. 30+ cats is more than one person can take care of.

So? Cats require little to no care. Just go there twice a day with enough food each time and done.

Hmm.. i dunno this FML doesn't seem real or logical come on, who would have 30 or more cats ? or even more that 5 cats that's a lot. but if this were true then have fun cleaning up the crap they leave behind, no really make a game of it called "finding the crap". but this does make me remember of the simpsons character crazy cat lady BTW I think you should ask some questions before you do these kind of jobs some tend to have a hidden surprise =D.

She could easily have 5 female cats with little kittens each and be in the process of handing them over. Its not as much as it sounds.

iliwatlol- "it's not as much as it sounds"? you may be well on your way to becoming a crazy cat lady yourself. 30 or so... that's a lot. I love cats, but that's creepy.

You can easily have 2 cats with 8 kittens each. Thats in total 18 "cats", but you'll only notice it as 2 cats. Same can be said for 30 "cats" if thats the case. Of course it'll still be a lot, but not even near to the number it seems to be.

On the upside, if one dies while she's gone, she won't notice.

Jeez....Why not see about getting some of them spayed or nuetared in her absence. Someone whose "lost count" is obviously letting them breed rampantly with each other. The ASPCA I dont think would do anything about the situation until the owner and the one who can legally sign over any cats comes back anyway.

Are you retarded? Seriously? There isnt a germ in it that kills fetuses. The thing you have to worry about it exposure to Toxoplasmosis. Its a parasitic disease. A third of the world's human population has it already anyways. It can make you REALLY sick if your prego tho. Otherwise it wont even hurt you

Lmfao, Shit Mist. That was my first thought, imagine the smell of that place..

Morons who dont know any better and are seriously control freaks are the one's who dump their cats to die in the shelters (approx 70% of cats in shelters get euthanized). I've had cats around my whole life as did my mother who had no intention of getting rid of her cats during her three pregnancies. You just have your partner clean the litter box or if you need to clean it yourself, wear plastic gloves(kind you might wash dishes with) and wash afterward.

how does someone get 30-something cats?!?
