Today, the couple who had written the offer we had accepted for our house withdrew it because apparently when they came by for the home inspection, my next door neighbor's teenage son tried to sell them heroin. FML

OP should definitely report him to the police. Whether it was real heroin or not, having the police show up to investigate him ought to scare him.

Well in one case there might be imminent danger to OP, while if it's just a stupid kid ******* around without drugs, it's more of a hassle than a threat.

OP responded later saying it was a prank. I'm not surprised because in all reality, as others have pointed out a real drug dealer is way more paranoid and would never go up to a person they hadn't met and offer to sell them drugs.

Because they don't want to live next door to a family who sell drugs? Imagine the shady people likely to come round all hours of the day and night looking to buy, who knows what other illegalities they might be into too. Who would want to live next door to that, especially if you've called the police on them? They're gonna know who it was, especially if it gets to prosecution. Sounds like living there would be hell, good on them finding out in time to get out and run like hell.

Best thing you can do is report the son to the authorities or tell his parents. Kid shouldn't be selling any kind of drugs.
