Today, I swam in a race against all of the girls in the midwest in the hardest, longest, most grueling race you can swim. I won. Happy but so tired I could barely move, I looked up to see my time. I had been disqualified. For flinching. Before the race started. FML

How is that grounds for disqualification? And shouldn't they have told you before the race started that you were disqualified?

That's so not fair ;( bad luck sorrryyy

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!' I hated that.... I'm still butt Hurt about it and it Happend to me last year.

Did anyone ever think that maybe their coach just wanted to let them finish to get their time? That's the only reason I do half the races I do, just so she can put someone in and get my times to see how tired I get after certain races.

Uh what race is this? Also, I'm a competitive swimmer and the only reason you would be disqualified is for a false start. You can't be DQ-ed for "flinching"

I'm a swimmer that is grounds for disqualification, it has happened to me at a big meet before to but also happens all the time. If you flinch on the blocks it can distract others and may seem like you are trying to leave early.

was it the 500? bc damn that race sucks! I just swam the 200 IM tonight at my race and that has to be one of the worst ones ever too!
