Do it then

Today, while I was working at Starbucks, a customer spilled her drink all over the counter. After I cleaned up her spill and remade the drink (for free), she exclaimed, "Thanks! I should really tip you!" Then she turned around, walked directly past the tip jar, and left the store. FML

Run outside. Slap it out of her hand. Run inside. Fyl, honey... =)

It's annoying when people talk about doing something and then don't do it.

Could have, would have, should have, didn't... and yea, I wouldn't doubt if she had some *extra toppings* added to her food in restaurants already

Annoying yes... but Starbucks drinks are already really expensive...

It's a part of your job, and you're already getting paid. Cleaning up customer mess is a part of the job. I cashiered before and had to clean up customer spills too (they dumped a whole box of food on my counter and drinks in front of the counter). I had to remake their food too. No one tipped me. I got paid minimum wage, and never thought I deserved to be paid for doing my job. If you're getting paid for your work, you don't deserve to be tipped.

Yeah it's in his job description. He didn't say "and she didn't even tip me. FML" he said "AND SHE SAID 'THANKS! I SHOULD REALLY TIP YOU!" he only expected a tip because she made it sound like she was going to, the lady was being a bitch, so you all can go **** yourselves and develop some reading comprehension.

You should have chased down the dumb bitch and slapped the drink out of her hand. She is clearly a stupid bitch of a person and does not deserve to live, let alone a fresh drink.

Servers' "sense of entitlement" comes from the fact that we make about $4/hr. So yes, when we bust our asses cleaning up after people, serving their drinks and food, and remaking it when they **** it up, we expect to get tipped. Realize that in most restaurants, EVERYTHING done there was done by your server: stocking, cleaning, washing tables, rolling silverware, prepping ketchup bottles, EVERTHING. Be nice, especially when they are obviously busy.

Wow that's complete ignorance!

Yeah that's not really a big deal. You get paid seven or more dollars an hour to do that. And you didn't have to offer her another drink, but anybody that wouldn't would be a dick. That's the job you choose, deal with it.

you actually get payed minimum wage genius

People need to stop raggin' on the OP for posting this FML. The fact was that the customer was a bitch for even MENTIONING IT in the first place, and then not doing that. They're not bitching that they didn't get the tip; they probably wouldn't have cared or expected it otherwise if it wasn't for the customer opening their mouth. The fact that the customer DID and then just completely ignored the tip jar after a statement like that makes them a douchebag. Oh, and as for people bringing up servers at restaurants and saying how they don't deserve the tips, either? **** you. People who work at McDonalds also don't get as many taxes taken out of their minimum-wage paychecks like servers because the government assumes we make more money with our tips, even if it's not that much. It's retarded and unfair. Don't go out to eat at a restaurant unless you know how to tip decently, you cheap *****. OP - FYL. I'm sorry that customer was such an asshat. =(
