Do your own research

Today, I tried to open the research paper I've been working on for the past month, only to discover that the entire file is permanently lost and can't be recovered. This is not the first time this has happened to this paper. FML

your computer is probably crappy (Microsoft). best way to get back at it is to back it up.

Hey. :D My files just disappear randomly. But my computer had/has an overheating problem, which I think did a bit of damage to the motherboard and corrupted some shit. Programs randomly stop working too. And no, I have no viruses or anything. I like Windows better than any other operating system (Ok, partly because I don't know how to use Linux properly) but it can be a little buggy. Still, not so buggy that it would account for files disappearing.

you should start saving your work to a flashdrive just in case something like that happens again

If this isn't the first time that your paper file got permanently lost, why didn't you back it up?

Some papers are cursed, you know...

Disks, cds, usb drive, external hard drive, internet storage... all these options and you chose not to utilize them not once, but twice. Why should anyone feel sorry for you? You're just stupid.
