Today, I sent a picture to my best friend of the shoes I want to wear to prom. She replied, "Wow those are so unique". I guess she forgot that last week she told me she only uses the word unique when she hates something. FML

Who cares if she likes them or not, she doesn't have to wear them. If you like them then get them and wear them proudly. Think of it like this, op, if they were hated by everyone they wouldn't have existed in the first place. She could just have bad taste and the shoes are really actually extremely pretty. Don't let others drag you down or control how you dress or think. Be yourself and enjoy your prom as the beautiful person you are and no one else ~
