Don't call me Shirley

Today, I was on an airplane, waiting to go to the bathroom. After a few minutes, the man behind me asked what I was waiting for, and checked the bathroom. It was empty, and there was a big line behind me. FML

Didn't they stop letting people form lines near the toilets in aeroplanes, or was it just for people who do not look "American". Just saying as that was the reason given to me when I was waiting near the back toilet and there wasn't even anyone behind me.

Haha classic but then again one time I had been on a plane for hours and was very sleepy so when I went to the bathroom I could not figure out how to open the dam door I pulled on it tried pushing on the side and then a old lady told me a had to push right in the middle of the door she's over 80 and has bad eyesight I'm 15... :/

This happened to me when I was younger... except I ended up peeing my pants. :/

Uh, I personally would have checked the red or green signs that the doors have always had. But what do I know, I wasn't present at the time. All I know is that most say this is a YDI. But I say it's neither because everyone makes mistakes.

Shouldn't there be a type of lock on the door that tells you whether a bathroon is occupied or not?

Good. Unless it was a long flight, nobody should need the bathroom on a plane. Use the toilet at the airport before you leave. I hate it when I take a short flight of less than 2 hours and as soon as the seatbelt light turns off a dozen people run down the isle to the bathroom. It delays my coffee service.

Maybe you're confused on the green vacant sign and the red occupied one. Green means go.. So go ahead in the bathroom. And red means stop so don't go in there. That's as simplified as I can say it... YDI

You were just being polite to da air. Dur. Dumb people.
