The US Supreme Court has ruled that sobriety checkpoints are permissible under the Constitution. Once they stop you, it's not hard to find an excuse to detain you further or search your vehicle. Having reason to doubt your sobriety leaves a lot to the cop's judgment. There are many arcane traffic laws that most people break, so a cop likely won't have trouble charging you with something or other. Also, most traffic courts will take the word of a cop over yours any day, and you can bet that the cop's buddies will back him up. The best defense is not to annoy the police. Remember, cops are people too. If you piss them off, expect them to find some way to ruin your day. Any cop joke involving doughnuts or the word "pig" is a good way get on an officer's bad side.
the sad part here is 3 trucks with drugs probably came through while "tough cop" had to be a douche. i learned from watching my dad get arrested... cops just dont take jokes the right way.
they need a search warrant or ur consent so u can sue them
your supposed to pick them up and say "want some?"
actually they don't need a reason to search your car

They can't search it without probable cause. Donuts do not count as probable cause no matter how much they want them to.
making cop jokes at a cop may not have been the best idea.
