Today, my friends and I went out for drinks. I'm the only one who's actually 21 or over, and they have fake IDs. Not only was I the only one to be carded, the bartender thought that my actual ID was fake. I got kicked out while my friends kept drinking. FML

Today, I got my fake ID and went out with the boys to dinner and the bars. One of my friends asked to see my ID. He noticed my birthday didn't make me over 21. I paid $170 for a fake ID with my real birthday. FML

Today, I went to the bar to celebrate my friend's birthday party. I gave the bouncer my ID and he kicked me out, saying that I should at least use an ID card with the correct gender. I'm 22 and female, he thought I was an underage boy. FML

Today, I got a change of ID. My old ID had its corner cut off and was given a temporary paper ID. I went to a bar in another town to have some drinks. Turns out I couldn't because they couldn't use my old ID or my temporary one to let me drink, even though I'm 22. I've been there before and I work at my town's liquor store. FML

Today, I went to a bar to celebrate my 26th birthday. I got ripped off by the bartender all night because she secretly gave me non-alcoholic versions of my drinks. Apparently I look like I'm 16, so she thought my ID was fake. Happy birthday to me. FML

Today, I bought a small bottle of liquor to share with my husband to celebrate our move. It took three hours at the store as the cashier, manager, GM, and a police officer checked my ID believing it was fake. I'm 25. FML

Today, I tried buying alcohol for the first time. I have a baby face, so I had my ID ready. The store owner admitted that my ID looked real enough, but he wouldn't believe it wasn't just an elaborate fake. He very nearly called the cops on me. FML

Today, I had drinks at a friend's house before going out to a concert. I still had a bottle of beer left, so I brought it along with me. I got kicked out five minutes into the show for bringing my own drink, which is apparently against the rules. I paid $75 to get kicked out over a $3 drink. FML

Today, I went to buy beer underage for a party to impress a girl. I picked up the case of beer and went to the cashier, he ran it through without asking for ID. I left the store with a smirk on my face, I arrived at the party and showed the case to the girl. It was non-alcoholic. FML

Today, as a bartender was carding my friends, I excitedly asked if he was going to card me. The guy gave me a blank stare before finally replying, "Look, lady, I don't have time to stroke some middle-aged woman's ego." I asked because it was my birthday. I just turned twenty-one. FML

Maybe they thought yours was fake because it was different from the others? I thought those who check IDs were trained well to spot fakes. Because it's pretty damn illegal to serve alcohol to minors.

I'm trained to spot fakes and occasionally I have to do a double take and ask someone for a second opinion. There are some damn good ID makers out there who can make a fake look completely legit. It's sad that someone would be willing to risk another person's job just for a quick drink.

No, what is sad is that it risks another person's job for someone to use fake anything. I personally feel that as long as the ID was actually checked and all the appropriate actions for checking were taken then they shouldn't get in trouble if they miss one. As you say some are really good fakes.

Probably better that way. If they got caught since you are 21 they might you were involved in helping get the IDs. Also, you don't want to be around or associated with them if they get in trouble and busted.

Ugh! I can't stand people like your friends! I bartend and I always have little punks trying to sneak into my place of work "pretending" to forget their IDs. That bartender was stupid for not properly IDing you and your friends. No tip is worth me getting fined and losing my very profitable job. If I get caught serving a minor, I would be blackballed and I would never be able to bartend ANYWHERE else. **** your friends for risking someone's job.
