lol
seriously? just goes to show you where our society's intelligence level is going.
your better off. why work for someone that is way below you in the iq scale? I once didn't get a job bc the interviewer said I reminded him of some guy from high school. I ended up with a better job.
Sorry to tell you this... you did not get the job because of your name.
Communication is about the person listening, not the person receiving. If you speak in a way that the listener can't understand you (whether it's through slang or being overly verbose), you fail as a communicator. I'm not saying that you should change the way you speak, but you're not a good communicator because of your degree or your ability to speak well; you're only a good communicator if the listener can understand you at their level.
"Right, kick ass. Well, don't want to sound like a dick or nothin', but, ah... it says on your chart that you're ****** up. Ah, you talk like a fag, and your shit's all retarded. What I'd do, is just like... like... you know, like, you know what I mean, like..." Idiocracy isn't fiction. It's prophecy.
I say YDI, but in a good way. I don't know what kind of a person you are, but you apparently "talk good," so I say what's the FML?
LOL Win.

Maybe you offended the interviewer with your fancy jargon and flashy degree. Reach for new goals! Although, with an English degree, there isn't much hope.
Actually, an English degree is very versatile. It can be used in almost all lines of work. It basically teaches you how to think well. You learn critical thinking skills, analytical skills, communication skills, and the ability to read and write well. All of the above are an important foundation for any career. The rest is just training, which most jobs do anyways.
