Today, I found out that the man who sold me my car 6 months ago lied about it being "recently serviced" and "in excellent condition". It actually hasn't been serviced in years, and fixing all its problems is going to cost me $900 more than what I paid for the car. FML

That's why you always ask if you can have a mechanic look it over for you before you buy it. I'm completely ignorant about cars, and even I know that much.

rule #1 about buying used cars, ALWAYS ALWAYS have AT LEAST 2 different mechanics inspect it before you buy it! and NEVER use the guy the car owner suggests because they could have worked something out with them in advance

You expected something better from a car at that price?

SOUR LEMON POLICY!! lets you switch for a better car if the car you were sold went "sour", or if the dealership/ past owner lied (he'd have to pay you back in full)

Do you really believe everything you hear?

Ok so what? Anyways YDI for paying under 900 dollars for a car, really can you expect much more for that price?

They didn't say they paid under $900 for the car, they said the repairs will cost $900 more than what they paid for it. So if they paid $2,000 that means the repairs are going to cost $2,900. Or however much 900 plus whatever they paid equals.

umm that's why ur supposed to take ur car to the mechanic within three days of buying it. If it isn't mechanically sound then u have the right to bring the car back. it's the law!

Lesson #1 in buying a used car: Bring someone who knows something about cars, let that person check the car, and let them make an offer. If you are clueless never buy your own secondhand car!

This is why men should buy cars, women should make sammiches, it's only the natural order of the world
