Duped

Today, I found out that the man who sold me my car 6 months ago lied about it being "recently serviced" and "in excellent condition". It actually hasn't been serviced in years, and fixing all its problems is going to cost me $900 more than what I paid for the car. FML

That's why you always ask if you can have a mechanic look it over for you before you buy it. I'm completely ignorant about cars, and even I know that much.

rule #1 about buying used cars, ALWAYS ALWAYS have AT LEAST 2 different mechanics inspect it before you buy it! and NEVER use the guy the car owner suggests because they could have worked something out with them in advance

only $900 more? you got off easy, trust me, im a mechanic and have seen people get screwed alot harder than $900. still sucks though, scumbags are always out there, being dishonest, ihave been through it, but they will get what is coming to them, i assure you.

always bring a mechanic with you if you're buying a used car. idiot.

You do know that, it is a breach of a contract you and the dealer made. So you could file a contract law case against him since he knew it hadn't been serviced.

YDI always get a potential car checked over by a mechanic BEFORE buying it. If the seller wont let you obviously don't ******* buy it!

if $ 900 is more than what you paid for your car then seriously he wasn't lying about car being perfect he was joking!!

Basically, he's saying that if the car cost 5000 dollars, it would cost him 5900 dollars to repair. He's still an idiot for not running checks on this thing.
