Today, I was asked to dumb myself down so the people I was training could comprehend what I was saying. FML

Look, if you're trying to teach preschoolers what the difference between a prepositional phrase and a subordinate clause is, you're going about this wrong.

"Right, kick ass. Well, don't want to sound like a dick or nothin', but, ah... it says on your chart that you're ****** up. Ah, your shit's all retarded. What I'd do, is just like... like... you know, like, you know what I mean, like..."

It's a sad but true fact that in my customer service job I was trained to talk at a 5th grade reading level so customers could understand what i was saying.

Not enough details to know if FYL or YDI, but if you were a college professor or something I'd say FHL (f humanity's life) for the next generation. If you were actually training people like in a business setting, maybe you were using terms that they had yet to grasp. Like business lingo for your profession. I went into retail sales and they were saying SKU (pronounced skew) and I had no clue what they meant for 3 days until they finally explained it to me. At that point I was fine. Use smaller words next time OP. And if you wanna really be a jerk (do not recommend) talk REALLY SLOWLY.

The most intelligent people know that it's important to relate to people on their level. If you're incapable of making yourself understood, you shouldn't be training people.

Put together a slide show...that would probably help...unless I don't understand...

I find this more of a compliment, not an fml.

That's not ok. That just means your more educated. So don't feel bad.
