Today, my brother showed my wife a Craigslist ad by someone seeking casual sex. It had very specific details that made it seem like I wrote it. My brother later admitted in private that he made the post as revenge for me not loaning him $500 last month. Meanwhile, my wife still thinks I'm unfaithful. FML

So your brother's response to not getting money was to try and ruin your marriage? I'd keep him at arms length from now on. And honestly, 500 isn't "i'm going to lose my house" money. I'm curious what was so important that he needed the money for.

Wow not cool. That's taking it to far. Time to plan for some revenge Op.

Wow! 1. Never loan your brother another dime, even if he is starving in the gutter. Ask your wife when she's calmed down, why your brother would take her aside and point this ad out to her.

WOW. That is so lame. Ruining a marriage is not a funny joke. Hope everything turns out ok.

OP, I hope your wife realises that this obviously wasn't you (when she calms down and thinks through it properly) and I hope you don't have anything to do with your brother from now on. That is an incredibly worrying response to you not lending him $500, which, in this time and age, isn't a life changing amount of money. I am curious as to what he needed it for though

Do you mean Gumtree? I didn't think there was Craiglist in Australia. Sorry, I know a pointless comment, but I'm curious.

I posted the same comment pretty much but apparently people in Aus use it for casual sex

The fact that your brother showed her the article should make it easier for her to believe that he was responsible for it in the first place. Get her to ask your brother what he was doing on the men looking for sex with women page in the first place. That should also help.

oh my you're brother is a dickweed. normally someone doesn't go zero to sixty like that he's probably "that guy" in the family if so hopefully your wife takes whatever he tells her with great assault.

No joke, I'd kick his ass, after finding a way to prove my bother did it. Like was suggested above, have both of them open their email and have her "respond" to it. Since the unknowing brother would have had to verify the posting with them sending him an email, in guessing the brother from hell used his email acct. After than was cleared up, I'd kick his ass and have one less sibling... What an ASS!!

Tell your dad to disown him. He's no brother of yours. Family doesn't do that.

Your brother is a complete dick. Force him to explain that to your wife and consider not speaking to him for a while. Guy needs to grow up.

FYL, OP, that's terrible. You need to cut that a-hole out if your life, and fast. He's willing to destroy your family because you didn't give his lying ass money? That's no brother.
