When someone is only missing for 2 hrs police doesn't consider it as missing!
When I was 20 I went out to dinner with a friend (at the time I lived just down the street from a cafe, so we walked). My grandmother called me 21 times while I was gone and when my friend and I got back my uncle was taking my door off it's hinges. He threatened me never to worry her like that again. I had been gone probably an hour. I have no history of mental illness- but after that I'm inclined to believe it runs in the family.
My in-laws are that way. If we don't answer the phone they keep calling every couple minutes, will call other people to see if they heard from us, will drive out to our house looking for us, etc. We don't dare go see a movie or go anywhere without cellular service for fear of what chaos my panicked in-laws will have started.
Dealing with overprotective parents is tough, I've been through it. Ugh!
For everyone saying they thought you had to wait 24/48 hours before reporting someone missing, that is entirely a myth. If you know someone is missing (not in OP's case, but otherwise), you need to report it immediately. Waiting those hours is a myth from tv/movies.
"use your brain mother" haha.
