Freaked out

Today, I was leaving a campus parking garage. Suddenly, a huge man appeared behind me and kept saying "HEY!" "STOP!" In a gruff voice. I picked up my pace and so did he. I finally turned to him with a can of mace and threatened to use it. He was trying to return the $5 bill I dropped. FML

Today, I noticed someone leaving the parking garage. She dropped a 5-dollar-bill. I picked it up and tried to return it to her, but when I caught up to her, she turned around and threatened to spray me with mace. FML.

lol at #2 But yeah I once saw an old man drop his glasses without realising, so being a good citizen, I picked them up and ran after him. I got punched by a passer-by who thought I was trying to jump the old man. FML

#21: I can defend myself, but I'm not going to create the necessity. And one of the first things they tell you in self-defence lessons is: don't stop, don't talk to them, keep walking. Today when I was walking home a dark station wagon pulled onto the footpath in front of me. I clenched my keys in my fist and crossed the street. I later noticed that it was a Novita Children's Charity company car, but tell me that's not sus.

For all of the people saying that the OP deserved it: If she actually did get mugged or something worse you would be flipping out on how she shouldn't have been so gulliable and you can never trust people like the other FML about the change for a fifty. People make mistakes and it is a reasonable reaction if you are all alone at night and the only protection you have is your mace.

#7 - You're 8 years old, at least according to your profile you are, so you should know not to kick people unless they're trying to harm you by now. And #23 - No man carries mace with them. At least, I've never heard of one.
