Geography lessons

Today, some people in my class here in New Zealand found out that I'm from Canada, then spent the rest of the period asking if I had a pet moose and whether or not I lived in an igloo. They were completely genuine questions. FML

I dunno, I'm from Australia and I don't know if it's the same with New Zealanders but we're rpetty good at asking people ridiculous questions with a straight face. Then again maybe I just think NZ'ers should know better given the ridiculous questions they get from visiting tourists...

I agree I'm from NZ and we do this ??

As a New Zealander, I doubt they were serious... Then again... Gisborne...

I doubt they were serious too. We are just a bunch that likes to take the piss lol

Question: when you are eating dinner in your igloo, do you drink maple syrup or does it go on the food?

We pour it on top of our snowcones. (actually ******* delicious, try it sometime. Lots of sugarshacks sell them!)

Doesn't happen in Wellington. Sorry gizzy

ask them what they really do with the sheep

Oh COME ON, New Zealand! I thought you guys were smarter than that! :(....

I get it worse, I'm from Alaska... I feel your pain!

This. We Alaskans get those questions from the rest of the United States.

And if your from Hawaii too! Happen to me when I moved to the states.

That's funny because it's generally the other way around, with North Americans asking us (Aussies and Kiwis) if we have electricity, or if we have kangaroos roaming the streets. The answer to that last one, incidentally, is 'sometimes' - usually in country areas of course, where there are large patches of grassland nearby. I'm not sure what the Kiwi equivalent would be.

Do you have electricity!? Haha, really? As an American, I just want you Aussies to answer me one thing... Is there a 42 Wallaby Way in Sydney, and does someone named P. Sherman live there?
