Today, my husband's rich aunt and uncle came in town and handed us an envelope and said we hope this helps out with the student loans. Inside the envelope was just an article on new student loan procedures and how to get lower payments. FML

Today, I discovered that when my parents offered to help me pay for college, what they really meant is they would get the forms for me to apply for student loans. FML

Today, my parents gave me a letter they'd forgotten about since late last year. In it was a $30,000 scholarship to a local master's program with an application due date of two weeks ago. FML

Today, my husband announced the reason he had been working since much is because he had secretly paid off my tens of thousands of student loans. I then had to tell him I'm leaving him for his best friend. FML

Today, I called my dad to ask why my university tuition had not been paid. He said that my school was "too expensive" and he "couldn't afford it." He then asked me if I would take in his mail while he was away. He was taking his new wife to Hawaii; apparently it's beautiful this time of year. FML

Today, my father's company shut down his branch, leaving him without a job. This is followed by a letter from my school's financial aid office, saying I'm not getting a penny because my family's income level is too high. FML

When you are handed an envelope from a rich relative that says: 'I hope this helps with your student loans' what else do you expect? He didn't feel entitled to anything it was just disappointment.

i would gladly take it. don't be so spoiled and just expect people to hand out money like it grows on trees. i'm sure the money your aunt and uncle made didn't just fall out of the sky.

pfft, yeah, i have a lot of rich relatives and my parents have money, but not much to spare. and we never get a dime. its the way people work. you're just being greedy, so suck it up and get a job.
