Go broke, go woke

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I went on a date with my new boyfriend. When the check came, he asked, "Do you accept food stamps?" When the waiter said no, he checked in his wallet and said, "Well all I have is five dollars." I ended up picking up the $20 tab. FML

Oh shit, you payed for a tab, and an expensive one at that! This begs for a chivalry/equality debate, no?

I don't think ANY restaurant takes food stamps...if they did, the boys and I would be able to eat like kings more often!~

This one incident you may let go. But if he has a habit of "asking you to pay for dates" wants to borrow money, borrow your car, drop his ass to the curb. He just wants your money.

Who ever said that the guy had to pay for the food all of the time? Stupid bitch.

You're an idiot, you know that? This guy is obviously a lame moocher- BOTH of them should have gone along prepared to pay (as she did) unless one specifically invited to treat the other. Me and my boyfriend don't even keep score, because we pay for each others stuff all the time.

your weren't calling me an idiot were you?

ooooohhhhh 20$ killed u :O wow is life is NOT ******

Who shows up to a date with just $5 and food stamps? The point isn't that she had to pay ($20 isn't much), but he hadn't even put aside enough funds to pay for half if it was that kind of relationship... on the other hand, who calls someone they're on their 'first date' with their boyfriend?

124, i kinda agree with you! sometimes shit happens and you go unprepared to a date! others, you pay!! maybe he didnt like her and that was his way out?

I'm going to need you to leave his broke @$& and find a real man with dollars! I'm mad that he is so poor!
